working on a series of abstracts from the utility sinks at school. the whole series spawned from an in-class shoot— i was attempting to open the student’s eyes– to find art in the most unexpected places. for is art not a mechanism of perception in itself; the simplest of ideas, that beckon our attention if we choose to awaken the senses to them? i made one b&w frame and returned to document several of the sinks in the art department. whether the students gained from the shoot, i know it broadened my horizon as to the art at hand. enjoy…
